Privacy Policy
What this site collects, why, where it goes, and how to have it removed — in plain words.
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Who I am
This is the personal website of Nayem Hasan (nayemhasan.com). If you have any question about your information, or want it removed, write to me at hello@nayemhasan.com.
The short version
- I only collect what you type into a form or the chat yourself.
- There are no ads and no tracking pixels. Visits are counted on this site’s own server, without cookies.
- I never sell or share your details for marketing.
- You can ask me to delete them at any time.
What I collect, and why
When you contact me
The contact form asks for your name, email, organisation (optional), what you’re looking for and your message. I use them only to reply to you. The form is delivered to my inbox through Formspree.
When you subscribe to Nayem’s Note
Your email address goes to Substack, which keeps the subscriber list and sends the letters; a backup copy reaches me through Formspree. I use it only to send you Nayem’s Note. Every letter has a one-click unsubscribe link.
When you download a free resource
Before a free download I ask for your name and email, and your WhatsApp number if you choose to give it. These are stored on this website’s own server, along with which resource you took. I use them to know who finds the resources useful and, now and then, to tell you about new ones. You can ask me to remove them at any time.
When you buy a paid resource
Paid resources are sold through Supportkori. The payment and your details there are handled by Supportkori under its own privacy policy; I don’t see your payment information.
When you read the blog
Each post shows how many times it has been read. This is a simple count: it doesn’t record who you are, and a small cookie only makes sure your visit is counted once a day.
When you use “Ask about Nayem” (the chat)
The chat on the home page and at /ask/ is an AI assistant that answers questions about me. Please don’t share anything sensitive in it.
- What it asks for: a name, which is optional — you can say you’d rather not give one. If I can’t answer in time, it may ask for your email so I can reply there; that’s optional too.
- Who writes the answers: your messages are sent to an AI service to write the replies — Google Gemini, or, when Gemini is busy, Groq. They receive the conversation (not your email), under their own policies.
- Questions it can’t answer are sent to me on Telegram, with the name you gave and the last few messages, so I can reply myself. If I do, the question and my answer are added to the assistant’s notes so it can answer others next time — without your name or email.
- What’s kept on this site’s server: each question with its answer and the name you gave (the latest 500), questions waiting for me and any email you left (the latest 200). I use them to improve the answers and to reply to you.
- Your IP address is used only to stop spam (a limit of messages per hour) and is cleared after an hour.
- On your device: the conversation and the name you gave are kept in your browser for that tab only, and are gone when you close it.
- The AI can make mistakes. For anything important, please confirm by email.
When you visit any page
To know which pages are read and how people find them, each visit is counted on this website’s own server: the page, the name of the site you came from (for example google.com), and whether you’re on a phone or a computer. No cookies are used and nothing is stored on your device. To count each visitor once a day, your IP address and browser are turned into a scrambled code that can’t be reversed, using a key that changes daily; the code is deleted the next day, and your IP address itself is never stored. On your first page of the day, your IP address is also used once to look up your country and approximate city (through ipwho.is); only those two names are counted, never linked to you. No third-party analytics service is involved.
Cookies and storage
This site uses no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. It only uses a few small things needed for it to work:
- A view cookie on blog posts, so a visit is counted once a day (kept for one day).
- Your browser’s local storage, to remember your choices on this device: list or grid view, and the name and email you entered for a free download, so you don’t have to type them again. It stays on your device and you can clear it from your browser settings at any time.
- Your browser’s session storage, for the chat: your conversation and the name you gave, for as long as the tab is open.
- A sign-in cookie for my own admin pages, which only I use.
Other services this site loads
- YouTube, when a post includes a video. Videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube only sets its cookies once you play one.
- Google Fonts, for one Arabic greeting font, and unpkg, for the smooth-scrolling script. Like any website you visit, these services see your IP address when they send the file.
- ipwho.is, which turns an IP address into a country and city for the visit counts above; it sees your IP address for that one lookup.
- Images in blog posts and on resources may be loaded from other sites (such as Unsplash, Google Drive or image hosts), which can see your IP address in the same way.
How long I keep it
Messages are kept as long as they’re useful for our conversation. Subscriber and download details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove them. Chat questions are kept until newer ones push them out (500 in all), or until you ask me to remove them. View counts are kept as totals only.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from Nayem’s Note with the link at the bottom of any letter.
- Ask me what I hold about you — including your chat questions — to correct it, or to delete it: email hello@nayemhasan.com and I’ll do it as soon as I can, usually within a week.
Children
This site isn’t meant for children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect their details. If you believe a child has sent me theirs, tell me and I’ll delete them.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
